What is Step Up, Stand Out?

Being motivated and proactive in seizing opportunities for personal development is a highly regarded trait in the individuals who aspire to lead in the 21st Century. One of the crucial aspects of this development is leadership aspiration. To compete, succeed and stand out in the 21st century as a leader, students and youth should continually seek ways to develop leadership skills and to enhance their leadership potential.

This proposal is designed to provide your school with an invaluable opportunity to participate in the inaugural Step Up, Stand Out Leadership Program. Step Up, Stand Out is an experiential leadership development program designed by a globally renowned leadership professional. The program is developed using a contemporary leadership framework and is modelled on the approaches and frameworks used at the world’s leading universities.

About The Program

Purpose Of The Program

The 2017 program is a week-long leadership immersion exclusively designed to inspire young student leaders (Years 9-12). The program’s vision is to develop and enhance the capacity and aspiration of young students for active leadership and citizenship to be able to compete, succeed and stand out in the 21st Century as a leader. Specifically, focusing on building participant’s abilities in the following areas:

Self Awareness and Self Confidence to deal with ambiguity.
Effective Communication and Collaboration under pressure.
Planning and Strategising ability to tackle challenges.
Out of the box thinking and Creativity in managing tasks.
Effectiveness and Efficiency in managing resources, e.g. Time Management.
Optimism, Determination and Ambition in facing challenging situations.

Structure Of The Program

The program is a fascinating blend of contemporary leadership workshops and seminars with inspirational leaders, dynamic experiential leadership challenges designed by experienced professionals and reflective learning opportunities facilitated by trained specialists.

The program also provides participants with vital opportunities to network with corporate leaders and university students and to work closely with students from other schools.
